Barbecue Festival - Festival Wraps with Smokin’ on the Square

Jack's Old South barbecue team from Vienna was named Grand Champion at the Smokin' on the Square open barbecue competition at the National Barbecue Festival Saturday night in Douglas.
Jack's Old South earned Grand Champion status with a third place finish in the ribs category, third place in pork and second place in whole hog. Team members from Jack's Old South took home a total of $3,500 and a gold medallion for their efforts.
Friday's invitational Grand Champion, Bar-B-Quau, was named Reserve Champion, and added $1,500 to its earnings from Friday, when they took the Best of the Best championship.
In the Kids' Que, Toot Toot's BBQ of West Green took the title of Grand Champion, with another local team, Sara B's Too, earning the Reserve Champion title.
