Barbecue Contest - While the Big Pig is Smoking, the Sideshow Dishes Take Wing

It's the world's biggest pork barbecue contest, but it's not all about swine at the three-day Memphis in May World Championship Barbecue Cooking Contest at Tom Lee Park.
While the big drama is set for today when some of the 500 judges will select this year's winners for best pork shoulder, ribs and whole hog, Friday was reserved for the supporting cast of characters. Prizes were awarded for everything from the best sauces to the tastiest exotic entries.
There were more than 700 entries in this year's ancillary contests, a number that's grown in recent years.
